Re: My 3tc keeps shutting off
Awesome! Vacuum leaks are always the first thing I look for on carbed cars :P Easier to pin point if you use a piece of vacuum line like a stethascope ... for future use. Yeah I got all different kinds of answers so I tried each one by what seemed easiest. I thought it would be harder b/c the holes...

Re: My 3tc keeps shutting off
So I disconnected the hose to from the pump to the carb but there was plenty of gas that spilled out so I decided just to reconnect it. When I did though, the reservoir filled up again but I found a vac outlet on the carb leaking gas so I went to autozone, bought some vaccum caps & finally got it ru...

Re: My 3tc keeps shutting off
I thought it would be the fuel pump too but my guy said it's relatively new and it's probably the port plugs under the header (its missing two) or a leak from the carb since the vaccum delete. & apparently the fuel filter was bypassed (Idk why you would do that). How could I test the fuel pump?

My 3tc keeps shutting off
I was going to swap it out but decided its best to keep it. I turned the car on with a little bit of gas to the carb. I drove it around the block and died the second time I tried. When I press the gas, it sounds like its not sucking gas. I turned it on again and let it idle but when I gave it gas, i...

Re: 1983 Te72 Silvertop swap
is anything wrong with the 3tc? I may be interested Last time it was running, I think I could hear the lifters vibrating. if you watch the video you can hear it. The exhaust had a crack and the odometer didn't work so I have no honest mileage on the engine but if you rebuilt/replaced the carburetor...

Re: 1983 Te72 Silvertop swap
So I just bought a new gas tank, but I hear you need a gts fuel pump. You guys know if I could just run it the current one with another universal electric fuel pump? just curious http://carphotos3.cardomain.com/images/0016/82/82/16242828_large.jpg you can run your factory fuel tank but you will hav...
