New Here - AE71
Thought I had joined up here a while ago but guess not.
Recently move to the Houston area, just started working on my AE71 again. Prepping for a 4AGE swap.
Yeah.

It's all a bit stockish and needs a LOT of work right now. Biggest need is more 4AGE and less 4AC. But that's in the works:
And I guess technically I'm a former AE86 owner as well:

Re: New Here - AE71
Thanks guys!
She's not quite as good as it appears from the pictures. I think of it as a 10-foot car: it looks fine from 10 feet away but when you get closer you start to see what a mess it is. There's quite a bit of work to be done still...
As amazing as the 3TC can be built up, this car gets the 4AGE because, quite frankly, I believe that is the power plant it should have had from day one. The 4AC they put in it appears to have been the proving ground for the GTS AE86 that came after. In a perfect world Toyota would have slapped the 4AGE in it from the factory. The only other motor I've thought about would be a 2TG. Primarily because it looks gangster as hell and is really the period correct choice.
Ah, perhaps one day I'll have enough cash to build a 2TG for fun.
