Hello from San Antonio!

Post by Gibenstein »

Just found this forum through a couple of friends that are current members. They highly suggested this forum for 4AGE parts for my newly acquired 88 MR2 (unfortunately has a spun rod bearing), so I am here to check things out and hopefully get my 4AGE back on the road.

Here are a couple of pics from my phone. Car was actually saved from a junk yard by the previous owner (I guess someone sold it to the junk yard because of the bad motor). As you can see, some of the oil pan parts are on the floor because me and a friend wanted to check the rod bearings and number 2 is destroyed. So time for a new motor :(.

If the crank is fubar on your motor, there was a guy on here selling a 7 rib bare block with crank in SA. Pretty sure he still has it.

Welcome to the Garage man.

Have you considered a 1MZFE (V6) swap in your "Mister"? They're great motors and should fit in that AW. AWs are my favorite gen of the MR2s.

It has crossed my mind but I definitively like keeping things stock or lightly modded. But I will dig up on the swap again.
