New in Tennessee

Post by yukesrevolver »

Hmm, well, short and sweet then eh? Name is Mason, live in Nashville, and have been into AE86's for a little over ten years, owning an 85 GT-S hatch (now wrecked thanks to a careless redneck lady) during this length of time. Been on club4 since 2003, mostly in the parts section.

and after.

Since I'm married to the damned thing I won't get rid of it, but currently trying to find something to replace her until I can get things going on it. Found an original owner 87 SR-5 coupe with 80k miles not to far from here. They don't "know" what they have, but they know they have a clean version of the car. It basically looks like a 3-4 year old car. Always hesitant to snag SR-5's, they're typically more hassle than its worth...but something tells me I'll regret not picking it up.

Anyways, greetings to all!

Welcome from KY! Found my GT-S a few days ago in Clarksville, TN. Unrusted examples are tough to find on this side of the country it seems!

Haaa, yeah...maybe on ebay. Its not like I don't have every single freek-od GT-S part needed for a conversion, but part of me keeps holding out for something else. A GT-S (or properly converted SR-5) just makes life easier at the start of the project. However, if there were an SR-5 deemed worthy of the effort to make it a "real" AE86, it would definitely be this one. It was a stunner for sure. Couldn't honestly think of a better platform to start with on a simple project....damn, I'm basically talking myself into buying it, lol.
