Howdy

Post by Mori »

Just joined the forum and wanted to say hello. I'm from San Antonio originally but live in South Carolina now. I have a 1985 SR5. So far I've added Supra rims, Tokico blue shocks, Tanabe springs, polyurethane bushings, T3 camber plates, MSD 6AL with Blaster coil (thanks to advice from dr. occa), Nardi wheel, etc. I plan on keeping the 4ac motor for now. I have some headers waiting to go in and will be replacing the stock carb with a Weber soon. I also have a GTS rear end that I'm rebuilding. Some pictures are attached below. I love this car :)

welcome mori.

very clean coupe.

if i may: consider fabbing up a heat shield of aluminum to shield the msd parts from the header area. just consider it. and while you're there, include the brakes lines, master cylinder and booster in that shield as well. i plan to for my brake components.

Thanks for all the compliments. I was real lucky to get this car.

Unfortunately, the 4ac motor has the exhaust on the passenger side along with the intake. There is a OEM heat shield between the exhaust manifold and the intake manifold which I trimmed so that it would fit over the headers as well. I looked into ceramic coating the headers but it is too expensive for me and I don't want to use header tape because I'm afraid it will make them rust. I might try to wrap the intake manifold since it is aluminum though.

Anyways, thanks again!
