Hey, welcome to the boards Steve! Would love to see pictures of both and especially the carb setup on the pickup. I love carbs.

I will post picks on the weekend but the pickup has the stock carb. I was originally thinking of going to a dual mikuni setup but was dissuaded by a local guy who specializes in Toyota pickups.

I outfitted a buddies 79 corona deluxe (20R) with a new head, torquer cam and a pair of 44PHH mikuni side draughts on a canon manifold. That thing is quick!

Hi Joel, thanks for the welcome. Dr Occa the reason the guy gave me for not going to dual carbs was that where I live my elevation is 300 feet higher or more then Toronto, with the elevation changes and the changes in weather because of the seasons he says I will never keep it in tune.

No worries Steve. I'm not going to give you a hard time. Here's some food for thought Steve: your pickup already has a carb on it. Not a performance one but a carb none-the-less which is just as susceptible to weather changes as any other carb Also, elevation changes are only a factor in your carb performance & jettings when we're dealing with 1000-2000 ft drops or rises. Also, mikunis and webers were designed for use on cars that would see all seasons in Japan and in Europe (respectively). Again, no worries man. There's no rule that you SHOULD go performance carbs.

Well that's good to know Doc. I will have to keep my eyes open for a pair of mikunis and an intake manifold. As the truck is meant for regular use slash daily driver in the good weather months I didn't want to have something I was going to have to tune jets on every other day.
