My 1991 Eagle Talon TSi AWD

Post by Force_Fed »

Well, now I finally figured out I can upload directly to the server, I'm going to do so. Here's my 1991 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. For those of you that don't know, this is equivalent to the Mitsubishi Eclipse with the badging and paneling being the differences.

Dated June 11, 2007. First day I had the car... After it was delivered :D

It looked like this for a while. I was too focused at getting it mechanically sound.

As a matter of fact, this interior came out of my 1990 Eclipse GS-T. It had 44,xxx miles when someone rear ended me and ruined the car.

Time passes on... I do minor changes in the mean time when I can. A lot of other, more important, things happening so comitted time to the car was limited. Over 5 or so months, I paint the car, make my FMIC, tune, dyno, tune, dyno and then this... ALSO NOT TO MENTION ON MY BIRTHDAY!!

I was up and running like new within 10 days. Just took a while to source parts and/or wait for new parts to come in.

This is what I consider my "signature"; All black. When my friends saw the 86 and asked me what my plans were, I told them. Then the question came up; "What color are you going to paint it? The Traditional?" My response; "Yep" **evil grin creeps on my face**

The traditional look... :D

Believe it or not, there's a large core intercooler there. Also, no, it's not painted, but coated with a proprietary coating that increases thermal efficiency of the core. Gotta love technology. On a good day, it can dissapate well over 150°F of heat.

The current rims are black 6 spokes with 245/45/ZR17s all the way around. Also equipped is some "anti-go-to-jail" equipment. LOL! Basically if you're law enforcement in pursuit, and I activate it:

- I can see ahead of me
- I can be heard, but you can't see me too well
- I know what you say
- I'm not stupid enough to try in metropolis. Rural or country, you might as well give up.

There's also enough HP, if need be, to get where I need to be ASAP. I'm bad....

The 86 will carry the look as well but I'll see how much attention I get when I first get it on the streets. Might have to cloak it at times...

As it sits, my "daily driver" tune is at 326AWHP at low boost (15psi) without traction problems. There's plenty left in it with the properly loaded tune and moderate boost. 26-28psi does wonders on the streets.

Well that's about it for this one. I'll see what other cars of mine have pics for them.

Thanks guys. Currently, it's at stock ride height because of some suspension mods I was considering. Eventually I will find a way to equip the Evolution VIII calipers without "adapter" brackets or any of that nonsense regarding dremeling metal away. I'm trying to take an Evo hub or knuckle and make it work. All in due time.

Currently, I have a stroker on the engine stand just waiting to go in. It just might.... soon. 2.3L, here I come.

LOL! The time has come, the 2.35L stroker is going in... I have invested tens of thousands of dollars into this setup. Lets says its intended for continuous +10,000RPMs. Custom crank, custom rods, custom aluminum-beryllium pistons, custom everything... If I could just eliminate the valve springs and replace them with nitrogen chambers or desmodrimic valves, I'll be set... :D
