i know pleeeeeeeeeeenty of people who welded their 86 axels and were very satisfied and have had it for years. im definitly going to do it. if they put stress on ur axels then so do lsd's because all it is is just locken without any gas or brake. only problem is u have to drift in a parking space. and it wont mess up your diff unless u just tak weld the outside of the spider gears ask rick on how to do it.

yes lsd's put stress on axels but not when you are driving slowly around town. Its not nearly as extreme as welded if you kick clutch with lsd when the rear end is in a bind the lsd will give if you kick clutch with a welded when the axel is in a bind the axels will give. I only know of 2 people in houston with welded corolla diffs on of them is rick which I will say his rear ends hold up well. the other is rob and he has snapped two axels in half with welded gears. In my opinon if you cant drift with a open or a stock lsd then you dont know enough about drifting technique. I have been drifting on the stock lsd for over a year now and its never hurt my drifting ability. The only time I have trouble with open is when I am trying to do very slow street drifting. hell orlando was drifting his 4ac corolla on dry pavment with a open diff so if you have to have a welded to drift maybe you need to work on your technique

Driving in the rain with a welded is not bad but it's not for everybody. You have to have decent tires though if not then you aint going no where, well if you have power. you just have to keep the wheels loaded with the motor and not let them free spin. kind of hard to explain but it takes some getting used too, my ex fiance almost totaled my 240 because she didn't know how it would react.

It's okay I love Jonas and will take correction from him. I am young, he is old, I am his apprentice in forum communication...
