Welded GTS rear end, brakes, SS lines. Sad diff :(

Post by hotdoghogie »

Hey man! Whats up!

I got you Muricans' a 1987 (kouki) GTS rear end with a welded diff. This diff was an open diff from the factory, so I welded it up. Plenty strong for a 4age, was running it behind a 170ish HP rotary. Plan on making more power, need something stronger.

-The bad, the diff has a high pitch whine at part throttle. Under load and decel it makes NO noise. I never put in a shimmed tube where the crush tube is, which is known to deform under hard loads and this I assume throws the backlash of the r&p out. That being said when at part throttle around 40mph the sound will shutter as in get louder and quieter rapidly at part throttle driving me to think the pinion gear isn't staying put. Could be an easy fix, could wrong. Also has no dust shields.

It comes loaded up, you get freshly rebuilt brakes, SS brake lines, fairly new rotors, fairly new pads, has FJ wheels studs, and was painted fresh before I threw it into the car a few months back.

Asking $200. Come pick it up, I'm located in Abilene, TX. Call/text me @ (512)415-0229. Dennis. Can send more pics.
