86garage and other communities dedicated to the Hachi Roku

Post by dr.occa »

From my own experience, I've enjoyed almost every 86/Classic Toyota & Other Imports forum community that I've had the pleasure of joining and taking part in.

There's always a great wealth of information and a lot of very seasoned technicians with helpful insight willing to offer/give tips and answers.

Ingenuity seems to also be rather prevalent. Some designs better than others  but still, creative minds trying to work out a problem or improve their vehicles' performance in power and/or handling.

I don't come across too many egos. But I do run into very straight forward enthusiasts who have been tinkering on the cars for what would seem like eons. I never take it personally but more like "word from the wise" who've been through the hardships already and are just trying to help lessen the amount of wrong turns down back alleys for those coming down the road.

Some great sights:

Club 4AG
HachiRoku.net
Toyota3TC
Japanese Nostalgic Car a.k.a. JNC (may be merging with another classic import organization)

Just to name a few.

Share your thoughts and experiences both good and bad everyone.
