passed away in September 2008 due to declining health. Could be cancer related is what my best guest would be. Here's a short article:

sorry to hear that.. he looked kinda of young.. i also like the s2300 that he made that beat the mcr34... Also on another note.. those any one here know if keiichi went ahead and put the 5ag in his 86..? Since sakurai passed away and was the one that i guess maintained his 86..
