From what Ive read the Toyota ECUs dont work well with piggybacks.

Ive had the car for less than a year. Motor build took me about 3 months or so. Mainly due to me just taking my time on it and not getting stuff over to the machine shop.

back when the emanage blue came out we had problems with the stock ecu trying to correct our rich condition from adding boost. got to keep it in open loop to keep the o2 corrections off.

What's the max boost a stock ze ecu will compensate for? I've read 12-14 untouched. Up to 20 with a tune... I really want to keep this build on the lowest budget possible. Can't afford a Haltech or Megasquirt...

depends on how much volume the turbo\supercharger is flowing. i know a t25 on a 4afe with a 12-1 fmu and 200cc injectors will start to run at 13-1 on the afr at 10psi.hich is a little lean for a turbo motor at wot.i also hear gze ecu's are really hard to find. but if you gots one i would rock it. what you want to do is find out the max airflow lbs a min. a t25 is around 25-28 which will make 25-280 hp at 30 psi if it can even spin that. my turbo is rated at 52lbs a min and will flow 520 hp at 30 psi or so.

Mind you I plan on running a Vortech S-trim with a 12-14psi pulley, external wastegate, and a bov. I know of people running modded SC14s with a stock ze ecu with a tune and they're pushing 14psi with no problems.

that s trim probably flows way more than the sc14 though.

also wtf!!! a wastegate on a supercharger!?!?! wastegates are for turbos, so are bov's. the point is to release the pressurized air in the intake pluming after the turbo so the pressure doesnt slow the impellers on the turbo when the throttle is closed. i could actually see it being of use in a rotrex because its coupled by hydraulics but the vortec is gear driven from the accessory belt and will not slow down due to pressure in the intake pluming

It's not that uncommon to run a bov on a centrifugally supercharged motor, Mustang guys been doing it for years. The wastegate is to help with boost spikes, a common problem with centrifugal superchargers. It's the same as running one on a turbo motor, just the boost is belt driven, not exhaust driven.
