i can't complain to much about the 4age, you can turbo it, you can rag the hell out of it and it still comes through for you as long as you keep oil in it. and hell the thing is so small you can swap a motor w/o a motor lift. lol.

it's funny you should say that: i took my old motor out by hand! had the head off first then just stepped into the bay and lifted the block out. hehe.

pshhh

I replaced waterpump, thermostat, radiator, heater core, swaped from mechanical fan to twin highflow cfm electric fans, PLUS ran the heater on defrost during drift runs.... at MSR it was hurt. I thought about removing the thermostat all together. Although I was reving the shit out of it , at times I was getting close to 4,000 rpms.

actually, I6's have a longer history than the V6 as well as longer life it appears.

the ford I6 300 4.9L has a reputation of outlasting its V6 & V8 counterparts: 300,000 miles + without a rebuild under regular maintenance (typical tune ups and oil changes, etc.)

my I6 300 is wonderful. i can get a good cam for it inexpensively too roll over some feet a lot faster no matter what size. :P
