you know you own an 86 when... you heater works awesome in the spring the don't use it for summer, and then turn it on and no heat...

...when you get that stupid look from people after trying to explain how to close the door locked, and eventually just do it yourself. And then wonder why you even bothered, because everything in the car is completely useless except to about 25 people in the state.

totally agree, i usually waited for them to close their door, then locked it and locked mine on the way out of the car. saved the explanation... and their response to 1980's innovation!

omg yea i always wait to get out of my car untill the passenger gets to lock up they always ask what are you waiting on i tell them to lock the door. they always say "I locked it" then i always have to tell them that there is a trick

you know you own an 86 when you get a thumbs up from other car enthusiasts at least once a month. (even domestic guys some times do this too lol but i drive mine daily)

when you have a "backup car"...just in case.
