sure did! now, only if santa was an 86 guru, he could put it in for me as well! hahaha.

big day is coming up everyone! its a good chance to come by and learn something new and get dirty if youve never done something like this before. its also a good time to come out and just hang out with other 86 owners.

also: Angelo is wanting to do some rear differential work. i was wondering if anyone had a slide hammer (to get axles out) and a hydrollic press (for bearings) and any other tools needed to work on a rear end. i think he also has to set his backlash, so that might require a micrometer and dye or something?

Well guys I am sitting here on my lunch break after they informed me I will be working a half day this Saturday to make up for losing 2 to thanksgiving... I figure I shoud still be able to make it to the shop by 1100.. and with the work that needs done should still be able to get my hands dirty.

Another thing: if anyone has any spare parts they want to sell/give away, if possible please post up what you have and then if someone wants it, they can let you know and you can bring it to the meet.

i know its a bit late notice, but maybe someone has something that someone else needs.

Well, shop day went pretty good. A few hiccups, but nothing that couldnt be taken care of.

So what did we learn?

1. Always have a clutch alignment tool handy
2. Forklifts are for more than just lifting motors/cars. (Forklift = 1, Timing piston = 0)
3. Host shouldnt leave before its done. (My bad)
4. Yes you can do a swap in less than a day and have it running.

Big thanks to everyone that came out and helped/hung out. It was good to even see people from Cali showing up!

Now if Mark can throw up some pics of the new motor in!

Tore down Mark's old motor some today. Everything seems ok for the most part. The top coolant holes had some grimey stuff around em and made em look like they were clogged up. Other than that the block looks ok. I can only assume a main bearing went out on him.
