Yep the stocker 4ac. After going to a car meet tonight with a fellow 86garage member I have found what engine is going in the corolla the following week to come.

i like rotaries myself.
i've been planning a 12A/B / 13B setup with an IDA/H/F or DCOE conversion either in a FB or FC.
apex seals are my biggest concerns especially since top self aftermarket seals are rather expensive.

hey why the hating on the rotary
i wouldn't call them "explodotaries"
they just take a little more care and attention than other engines one of my friend's has had a fc3s for like 10yrs plus and he takes good care of that thing and it works just fine except for the ecu going bad just recently BUT the engine is fine :D
the reason ppl always hear about them detonating or not running and seeing tons of them on craigslist is b/c ppl don't know how to maintain/take care of them they think it's initial d and can just hop in the 7 and zoom! not how it works
and you gotta love the sound of a rotary nothing beats it!
BUT i'll stick with my corolla
just thought i'd throw my 2 cents in on the rotary

Never seen a rotary explode unlike piston engines which I have seen many times. Rotaries have fragil seals and apex seals but if you dont cheap out like the wise one above stated "Expensive aftermarket apex seals" and don't overheat it, it will be a great race engine. I just dislike the fuel consumption. I would baby my 13b and get 15mpg highway, it felt like fun but wasn't very fast lol.
