I had heard toyota was making a new rwd ae86 inspired car.. hopefully it is relatively lightweight, and can be thrown around like the ae86.. I would almost be willing to take a car payment for such a car.

I think this is for real. Im still getting conflicting info about the engine though. For sure its going to be a Subaru boxer making power from 150hp to 250hp.
Im really excited about the dimensions though! Check this out:
Vehicle Length Width Height Wheelbase
FT-86: 4,160 mm 1,760 mm 1,260 mm 2,570 mm
AE-86: 4,200 mm 1,630 mm 1,340 mm 2,400 mm
The new car is shorter, wider, AND lower! The wheelbase is longer by about 7 inches, but what can you do?

First Saab now Toyota is going Subaru? MEH, Id rather go in another direction for motors. Boxer motors are such a pain to work on and parts aint cheap.

they have to bring out something to compete with the new genesis. it would be cool to have a few different small rwd platforms to choice from.

the body line resembles the concept supra. it's ok. just too I-Robot for me.
it's too bad they didn't revamp the original body lines and offer a trueno and levin model: trueno with sunken lights not unlike the amemiya style fc/d kits and the levin solid face spectacles similar to the new camry just for example.
still would have liked a better successor to the 4AG in it rather than a boxer. it just comes off as a cross platform engine swap e.g. F20, SR, etc...
i just copied and pasted from my other post in media.
