11/21 DFW Shop Day/Meet?

Ok, well im sure most of you know the situation with my car. Chris (madeinthe80's) has graciously allowed me to use his family's shop to install the engine.

He also has to do some stuff to his car as well, so we decided that this might be a good time to just make it an install/work on 86's/meet day.

Now, we want to have this organized, and want people to tell us what they wish to work on or need to have worked on. This will be a great opportunity for those that havent worked on cars or that want to learn to work on cars to experience getting greasy and dirty.

I hope to start early in the morning, and have my car running by the time we go home. I think that is very doable considering i dont have to buy parts or anything, its just take engine out, swap parts, put engine back in type thing. I also dont want this to become an "Install Mark's Engine Day" either, so i really want others to come and work on whatever needs to be done.

Im willing to buy pizza for dinner (say around 6-7) for the group (if its not super huge), and would be willing to buy some beers as well, if there are some drinkers out there.

I havent ordered the engine yet, as i want to be sure that others will come and participate, so let us know!

My car has been making an odd squeaking coming from the rear end.. I would appreciate if anyone could have an idea as to what it was.. I have noticed it tends to do it only on left turns.... any ideas? if nothing else I am down to come for the motor swap, because I could dig on learning...

he's in san antonio. i went down there to trade him seats :D

ok, so far, this is what i see going on that day

1. Swap Mark's (mandm177) engine
2. Install Chris's (madeinthe80's) AC stuff
3. Possibly inspect Josh's (jorsh) rear suspension squeek (if he comes, btw, check bushings to see if they're greased up)
4. ?

id be comfortable doing this if we had a couple of other small-ish projects.

just had a quick/cool thought...it would be interesting if someone had a time lapse camera that we can setup to record throughout the day. haha

That would be interesting.

I'll also bring up my PS3 for some GT5 action on our 32" LCD if anyone gets bored. Ive also got a 24" monitor with HDMI we can use on my computer for it.

Just trying my best to get people out!

To me it sounds more like a rotational noise as it gets louder and faster the faster I go.. I will check anyway, but I will admit I'm a bit confused. I didn't see any obvoius signs of rubbing.

if its rotational, then its most likely not suspension. other possibilities could be wheel bearing or binding brakes
