what does the swap intell? i've heard you have to swap the gas tank and gas lines. why?

fuel injection takes a in tank high pressure fuel pump and high pressure lines sr5 has neither

actually, the fuel lines are necessary. a good friend just used the existing fuel lines (SR5) and installed an inline walboro. it's been running great for the past 4-5 years that way.

electrical: you need the engine & dash harness

engine & power train: engine (of course), gts tranny (or just the gts bell housing), headers, intake and don't forget the ever important AFM as we've all lately been seeing a great deal of problems with

optional: rear end from either an open or fact. lsd GTS w/ discs. if you go w/ LSD than you'll need the shaft from one that had LSD

suspension: grab the gts sway bars, they're slightly larger than the SR5

exhaust: is it that important? go open headers!

you dont have to have a gts bellhousing but if you use the sr5 you have to heat wrap the slave and line. If your talking about needing a drive shaft you dont need that either they are all the same.

drive shaft difference between LSD and non-LSD? i put them side by side will. the LSD shaft is shorter than the open diff shaft.

weren't you taught to say NO to drugs?

Ive put a sr5 drive shaft on a lsd rearend and it worked fine it was the same size and ive seen heat wrapped slaves and lines that have worked fine for years

I think you just thought they where diffrent in size because Ive always heard that but then I put the sr5 drive shaft on the lsd car and it worked fine. It dosent make much sense for toyota to make two diffrent drive shafts for the same body same tranny same motor set car it would cost more than making the yoke diffrent to work with the same drive shaft

if they're high pressure, why is there a soft line after the fuel filter into the rail? besides, if you want to see the proof of a GTS swap without the fuel line & tank swap but running with an in-line pump using SOFT FUEL LINES going on 5 years, it can be easily proven.

as for the clutch line wrapped w/ heat wrap, would YOU run that way will? heat wrap eventually becomes brittle and starts to flake apart. not reliable and not worth the worry driving that way. it's nothing to swap out the clutch lines. in fact, i made my own from some asian/import brake lines that can be had really cheap from o'reilly's.

suffice it to say, the basic things you'll need (both in material and know-how) have been covered here.

it's obvious from 2 different sources that there maybe some variables from swap to swap to look for. but at least you know what trouble spots to look out for.

there is a big diffrence in soft line for high pressure and for low pressure just go to the auto parts store and they will tell you that. I would use the sr5 bell housing because it hard to find gts shit and it will work fine if you do it right. You could even make a heat sheild for the line and then it would never fail the starter and oil filter are right next to the manifold so it cant get that hot. All Im saying is there are several ways to do things and that the driveshafts are the same

Well oddly enough the drive shaft in my car is out of an sr5 I didnt compare them I just put it in. I thought the center carrier was going out and I had a sr5 driveshaft that I got with a tranny that I bought for my 83 corolla so I put it in and ive never had any problems with it. The fuel line thing is not from experience it from fact they make diffrent rubber hose for diffrent fuel pressure I dont play around with things like that. Id much rather have a clucth line catch on fire tham a fuel line

so experience isn't fact??? hmmm...so if i experience getting stoned on pot it doesn't necessarily mean that it's a fact that pot gets me stoned. gotta remember to use that one with THE MAN.
