Austin is only a short drive away. We could do it like in 2010 and have lunch there on Sunday. I think this year we should build a cruise into it, like lime creek and have lunch at some cool place and chill the rest of the time. Austin or San Antonio I think are the best locations, most central to Texas for everyone.
Side note, I was at the FRS launch party at Toyota of Dallas and the two other FRS's in Dallas showed up, I was talking with one of the owners and it came to mind that this year we could have old and new 86's show up to this. Maybe next year Harris hills can come true? Anyway I just had that thought of old and new 86's together going for a cruise,a boy can dream
I am one of those FR-S owners and would love to attend. Austin has a good deal of appeal for me, got buddies there and a free place to stay. Still, nothing wrong with San Antone. I'll block the weekend for this.
we tried to do the leave San Antonio thing Sunday morning to drive to Austin and eat Pho, then hit up Lime Creek Road on Sunday thing, but that was just too much, in too short of time, because of the long drive home, IMO.
I'll have to throw my hat in for Austin the whole weekend, just to make logistics and scheduling easier.
For example:
Arrive Friday Night in Austin for the early birds, go to a bar/restaurant hang out, have good times, call it early.
Saturday: Breakfast at Round Rock Donuts (yum!) and because we WILL HAVE people who won't show up early/on time, make the official start of A/The cruise at around 11-12. That'll give people who didnt show up Friday night to leave early Saturday and make the cruise. Do Lime Creek, stop by somewhere for a LIGHT snack, go back to Hotel/Motel cleanup, shower, rest for a bit, let the guys who came in the morning check in. Later that afternoon/evening, make the nice drive out to Salt Licks (another 45 min-1 Hr drive) eat some BBQ and just pig out. Nice drive back and do some Karaoke/drinking on 6th street or somewhere local to the Hotel.
Sunday, find another breakfast place, chill, recover, catch up on good times, and let people leave to make the long drive home or do another small cruise.
Just an example itinerary, but we don't waste an hour of boring highway driving from San Antonio to Austin and we can use that hour to do some nice twisty road driving somewhere near Austin.

if yall wanna do austin, i can plan a whole weekend thing. cruise, good food places, bars, etc
That would be indecently cool Thaison.
I recently spoke with Darlene Collins from Highland mall about possibly renting one of the parking lots for either Saturday or Sunday. According to her though the chances are VERY slim but she would get back with me soon.
It would be great if there was a large lot that someone could rent out to us say for $500 - $1000 for several hours and everyone chip in to cover the fee that's interested.
