deals you couldnt afford
deals you couldnt afford
ok, so ive been coming across some really good deals on vehicles but always find them when i cant afford them or im to dahm broke. this is a list of what ive came across in the past few years
79 corona liftback: $600 talked the guy down to $450 then had to buy tires for my truck
rx3:$900 was about a 3hr drive away from me. not running but very clean with minimal rust
rx3:$1200 right bout 10min away and was garaged with over 10+years of dust on the car. no rust and orginal everything. not running
rx4: $800 about 2 hrs away.
77 corolla sports coupe: $600obo. was sitting at a junk yard/used car dealer. the guy said it was traded in from a old couple.
79 corolla: $1000 your regular toyota rust but was running
82 starlet: $500 not running. needed a clutch
92 sc300: $650 bad tranny and no rear window(for sale right now)
89 starion: $2000. original owner with 89k miles. everything still original and cleanest starion/conquest ive ever seen. was 2 blocks away from my parents place.
85 ae86 gts liftback: $800 talked the guy down to $600 but told him i wont have the money till monday. i was heading to the lake that weekend so i didnt want to go pick it up. got a few missed calls from him. checked voice male and he said that he couldnt get a hold of me and that a few other guys stoped guy and offered him $800 for it and he sold it. this car was about a mile from my parents place also.
saved the best for last
85 ae86 gt-s coupe: $500 runing but has rear passenger quarter panel damage. guy said he ran into a tree on a snowy day. smelt like dog shit inside. was right down the street from me. i had the money on this one but was holding out and seeing if he'll lower it but then one day it was gone. stoped by to ask and he said he got a letter from the city to junk all non running cars. he said he stoped by on the day he got the letter but i wasnt home. i was actually out of town. so he had a friend just take it away.

dang we need to hang out hahaha
Re: deals you couldnt afford
tell me about. i was really pissed off on that last one. the others was more of me just looking around on craigslist and driving around town. the farthest one was the rx3 somewhere in the middle of kansas. the other ones down at my parenst place was when i was still living there. the 77 corolla was a good one that when i did get the money together and called up there. the owner said someone had bought it a couple days ago. i just found a car im wanting to get. maybe gonna have to get a laon or find the money some other way to buy it if the owner would get back with me about the car
Re: deals you couldnt afford
found a 70 toyota corona markII sports coupe. went to look at the car and was hoping it wasn't to good to be true and it was. the whole undercarriage is rusted. bottom fram has holes but floor boards has not been eating through but everything is rusted. car starts up runs and is drivable. just wouldn't drive it home since the tires are all dry rotted. has minimal rust on body that i can easily patch up with some bondo. only big problem is the between the driver door and fender. looks like it was pried or something like that. interior is not that good but seats and everything is still there just old and worn down. still cant get this ting out of my head. so what you guys think about it. should i offer him a little bit lower than what he wants since the undercarriage is rusted. or am i gonna get in over my head buying this thing with all that rust under the car.
heres a few pictures of what the guy sent me

that a nice car but like u said it was to good to be true.. sounds like a lot of work and money to get in good shape again..
Re: deals you couldnt afford
yeah, when i talked to the guy. he wanted $1500 for it and i got it down to $800. i had ask him if there was undercarriage rust and is the floor boards all intact since that was my main concern. he said it was fine so i took a 45min drive to go see it and it was rusted out. was kind of pissed. thinking bout offering him a lower amount and seeing what he says. my co-workers son has a body shop and i can probably leave the car there and slowly work on it but i like i said. i dont want to get in over my head and knowing if i do get it and start tearing it down. i can already see all the other issues thatll pop up

now that is something i really want. the first toyota i fell in love with which my dad had one way back when and it got into a hit an run. was still drivable but the insurance company didn't think so and totaled the car. then my dad got himself a 82 mercedes. that car got into a accident also with someone running a red light. officers still couldn't believe my dad walked away in that accident.
