Well, I ordered a refurbished 12A distributor w/ working vacuum diaphragms and noticed the bracket. So this is how it should have been on my old distributor:
If only I had known to check proper bracket orientation. It was never an issue w/ Toyota dizzes. You CAN teach an old dog a new trick.
