if its your dd don't do it. its a badass car as is itl get sideways on demand scream when you want it to you can have ur buddies ride with you have a good time or a relaxing drive on a long ways home at night the car becomes your best friend basically. gutting it doesn't make THAT much of a difference have a big person sit in your car and drive around and thats about the same weight that would be taken off and you will see it don't make that much of a difference. driving it with a whooooooom the whole time and little ticks and creeks and all those sounds the car makes gets annoying after a while. having the interior and everything gives off that cozy welcomeness vibe to the car if you get what im saying. mine yes i did gut but i dont regret it cus i have a badass dd cressida but then again i would love to have that fun little car to enjoy with all the stuff in it.

basically gutting the car wont make you some super sick insane takumi legend as people make it seem.

that should give u a better idea of a persons point of view who has experienced both sides.

when i had mine i did a half gut. i did the back but left the front. mostly due to never having anyone sit in the back cause its to small anyway. it did get pretty loud in the back due to having solid end links and pan hard. but it was a coupe so the trunk took most of the sound. i say if you have a coupe its not to bad. you can always just take the seats out and strip the sound deadning and if its to loud throw the seats back in. now if its a hatch it might be loud no matter what.

CBR means it when he says it's his daily: work, school, hangouts, groceries.

if you're not serious about going somewhere with drifting/time attack/gt racing, etc. and just prefer to keep it as a serious hobby AND it's your daily and can't dedicate it to track only action, i'd recommend keeping it enjoyable and comfortable for all around purposes.

just consider the whole picture regarding your car.

I went gutless for a while due to the floods a while back. i still prefer a full interior so i switched back.
but mainly due to the fact that little eric loves riding in it.

I would do what they said and just keep it with interior. But If you want to loose some weigt in the back I would suggest on taking out the sound stuff that glued/plastered on your floor. take out the rear carpet and rear seats and the headliner and BOTh rear speakers and all the stuff in the trunk!!!. then drive like that for about a day or two. If it gets to loud then take it a step further and take out the front carpet and that plastic/furry stuff under the dash. remove all AC stuff from under thr dash and all plastic trim from inside the car.

TOTAL WEIGhT LOSS WAS = 112 lbs

On the BUTT dyno i can feel the acceleration get alittle better but not all great. I did it cause I never had AC and second I never really cared about my other passengers. So my shit was GUTTED!!! If you can take loud noises and being hot then I say do it. But its all on what you want man. If you do it thumbs up :D if you dont do it, I still give you a thumbs up. :D But if you do dcide to go that route please paint it cause alot of time you get water in the trunk or hatch and it starts to collect there and then you get the draded rust spots.

Thank you all for your comments and after careful thoughts and consideration i think i'll stay with it for now since its my dd my interior is in pretty good shape i guess if ain't broke then dont fix it .And by the looks of it i'll be unique here in 86 garage.

I've always voted on keeping full interiors on dd's. If you wanna get rid of weight, get more power! he he

Well I did mock up something....More like Orgin-Lab did for the rear of the 240sx coupe. how they took carbon fiber and made like wanna be seats. I did that and its sitting in my coupe as of now. I do alittle fiberglass here and there. And really I see no need to have a rear seat any way cause all it is for is to lug around useless weight. (Friends , freeloaders , food) I say rip out the rear seats and keep on trucking my friend. cause the seats itself weigh in at just alittle over 13 pounds. But then again we are all diffrent. If you like the rear seats in then keep them in.
