XBOX one

Post by ga_goosh »

who here watched the xbox one reveal? I think they are doing cool things but im just not sure i will go with an xbox this time around. I watched the video about it on xbox live and it is very cool but im just not sure about the buying of games. there is no physical disk it is all bought on line which in turn means you never really own the game at all. also there is no used games. if your hard drive crashes there goes your games and all the content. also it isnt backwards compatiblity so no playing old games in the new device. at least this time around xbox decided to make this console a blue ray player which i like. the interactivity of this device and its ability to connect and be used with other devices is cool too its a cool way to ditch the remote control. does any one have any thoughts about the new xbox one? iv seen some you tube vids of people saying its basically an expensive remote control for your tv and media. there wasnt a lot of details on game play tho. i do love me some forza and i very much want to play part 5 so it is still a possibility for me.

I won't be getting one. It's the console system manufacturer's way of controlling the re-sale of used games that they see no profit from. What's ridiculous is how they want to continue to receive "royalty" from each reselling of a used disc that was initially bought at MSRP. They no longer OWN the product once they've accepted payment for their product. They still own intellectual property but they do not own the hard copy. This goes for recording artists and movie makers.

Let Microsoft and any other software publisher shoot themselves in the foot. Hopefully Sony will not follow suit.

for me it's sound like the play station is simpler... than just downloading games and not being able to sell and everything they said in the vid.. lol

Im also considering an ouya actually. it looks like it could be a lot of fun. i dont need all the bells and whistles just some fun games since im not really the biggest gamer.

Though I don't have one yet, I like the Kinect that XBOX came out with. Better than that lit up lollipop with a huge stick thing Sony came up with for the PS3. Too bad Microsoft is becoming overly possessive of the items in their future garage sale bins.
