egr pros/cons?

what do you benefit from having the egr stuff on the intake mani?

i honestly haven't looked into it too much i see some ppl with it and some who remove it

anyone know more about it?

gas milliage is about the only pro. ohh and being green if thats up your alley. multiple cons.remove it when you legally can.

Toyota even verified that the USDM emissions add ons caused the US model 4AG's to burn oil and wear out the rings due to blowby...

hmm i wonder if it makes that much of a difference on gas mileage i just wanted to clean up my engine bay a little and i seen pics of ppl who didn't have the egr stuff and some who did, what kinda cons does it cause with it staying on?

You can expect a dirtier intake manifold and runners due to the exhaust gas and particulates that will get deposited when the valve opens. It also adds to the items you will have to maintain. Keeping the EGR working means ensuring the valve is clean and the vacuum lines are attached and in order.

The gas mileage I'm not sure about, but I didn't notice a major difference when I removed mine.
