Confused on 16valve to 20valve swap? NEED HELP!
i saw the motor last night and its a silvertop 4a-ge 20 valved motor with trans. for $875. how hard is it to swap in to my ae86 trueno coupe? is it plug and play or do i need to do any body work? or should i just rebuild the motor on my stock trueno

there's a write-up on club4ag if you get on there it's pretty detailed main thing is finding a way to fit the distributor b/c it won't clear the firewall so you either have to bang in the firewall until it fits OR go DLI (distributor-less ignition) then you also have to re-locate the water lines, most ppl do a custom set up and re-locate them i have a few friends that went 20v swap i don't own one my self but your best bet is to read the writeup on club4ag

marks (mandm177) can give you a nice bit of ideas on how to execute the swap.
wiring in the ST 20v harness into a GTS harness is your main hurdle. then you just have to decide how you want to run your ignition as daveskates had already mentioned e.g. stock distributor (require some firewall modification), aftermarket programmable distributorless, distributor relocation or COP w/ batch fire wired into the stock harness.
you can either use your own creativity for solving your coolant routing or purchase available solutions. mandm177's route is an affordable route from SamQ in australia. affordable and dependable. you shouldn't have to wait long at all for the parts to arrive either.
