Just got off the phone with a fellow North Texas AE86'er and he wants to know if there's any interest in having a Spring meetup?

Date: Thinking some time in March or early April? Probably just a weekend thing.
Where: Austin preferably, but might consider Houston

I know that every time we plan a get together, we always have SO MUCH INTEREST, but when it comes down to it, hardly anyone goes...what's more sad, is that the host city's AE86'ers dont show up either. So, it would be nice if we could get double digit cars out there.

This is 3-4 months notice, so hopefully people can get on the ball, finish their cars (or just get them running) save up $100-150 a month and have enough for gas and a hotel room.

In fact, if we make it Houston, I can see if Mayday Garage would be interested in covering it. They'd only be interested if it were for sure a strong showing though.

I know the Supra TX2K13 event is in Houston (or near it) around the 2nd or 3rd week of March. I really dont feel like crashing a meet like that though. Id definitely feel inadequate in the faces of 1000+ hp cars. lol

Does anyone know if there's a cupcake meet or any other type of meet that we can join in on in the Houston or Austin areas?

I do know that SXSW Music is March 12-17 in Austin, so that will give us PLENTY of options for shows to go see later in the night.

If I get the 86 done by then I could be down. My problem could be between my two boys and their sports (baseball and golf).

I dont own an 86 yet, but hell, I'd just love to meet up with you guys and get to know the community better. I'm already saving for a 86 now, but if by some reason I dont by then, I'd still love to try and show up if this does happen.

The end of march is round one of Lone star drift. I'm down for spending that weekend in Houston for an 86 meet.

Hmm....I guess drift events dont really do it for me when it comes to meets and such.

I like our Austin get-togethers, where we just eat, drive, drink, and relax.

No offense to any Houstonians, but Austin has, i believe, much better roads to drive on. Also, Pho Thaison is there as well!

It could perhaps be a Saturday meet and people could go to Lonestar Drift on Sunday.

Pho Thaison? well damn, he brings up a good point. In either case Austin would be easier of a drive for me but I'm down for both places.

Welp, you know I'm always down for Austin. I have also been frequenting a few other twisties other in town that we can hit up!

LMK if y'all wanna do Austin again. The weather will be BEAUTIFUL come around March.

i will try to make this meet. i cant make any guarantees tho maybe when we get a bit closer to the date i can make a better estimation.

I'll definitely make it to an Austin meet. I live just east of Fredericksburg.
