from billzilla's page. i overlooked it for years and found it in the past months.
To back up the estimated power figures of the 4AFE, here's an example. As fate would have it, a friend of mine overseas has built an engine almost identical to what I will be building. It's in an off-road buggy and on an engine dyno it has made 248hp at 9,000rpm.
It's almost identical in every way, except the advantages mine has is that I'm using the better head, bigger valves, 1mm bigger bore (~40cc's worth), a better ignition system, and a more efficient oiling system. The advantage the buggy engine has is that it uses bigger cams.
So all in all I think it's not unreasonable to expect a similar power from my engine.
4afe madness!!!

250 whp n\a is 4age territory. i always wondered if toyota didnt use some of there f1 technology in this head. ie: pentroof chambers, awesome port angles and such.
web cams has regrinds and i found an austrailian company who makes custom valvesprings.

sorry about that 250 whp. the w must have slipped out.
i would say 220 ish with the drivetrain combo he's got.
i plan on following most of bills thread on the head and cams in the next year or two too finish off my fe engine build and hopefully reach my 450-500 whp goal on the ae101.i'm hoping my stock intake manifold will flow the 300 whp i should be making at 15 psi or so with the 440cc i have now. if youve ever looked in one of those fwd fe intakes.. well it a joke to say the least.
