I didn't think to ask this, but is the above unit an electronic distributor?
EDIT:
So I checked the parts diagrams for a 1981 Tercel and I found 2:

The 2nd diagram has 1 item labeled "Point" (19145)
I'm guessing that is a points distributor and the 1st one is electronic?
If so I'm guessing most Toyota diagrams have the points labeled on points distributors
