cant figure out my car problem!!!!!
well, pulled the head back off and there is no apparent leaking spots like before. also i rolled the #4 cylinder to bdc and i think i found my problem! the cylinder wall is coated in crap! this has got to be causing my blowby issue! but it still doesnt explain the milkshake
either way the head will be sent off to the machine shop tomorrow and ill have it milled and magnafuxed. i also have a spare set of fe pistons and rings laying around. i might re-hone and toss my rings on it from the 4afe.
thanks mark for the help and ill get you those pictures.
p.s. my compression tester must be bad

changed my mind. im just going to throw my 4afe pistons and rods in as long as the crank hasnt been turned and the block bored it should be fine. then if it runs i'm swapping my forged 4afe bottom end into my ae86!

heres the pic's mark.
first is the new head gasket. i completely drained the water out of the motor before removing the headgasket. you can see where the water was getting through the gasket into the oil passages.
theres more places than this but you can get the idea that its not sealing of the water passages.
heres pics of the cylinder. i belive this is where my rich misfire is coming from due to the lack of sealing of the chamber on the compression stroke causing this cylinder to not injest enough air due to the lack of low pressure caused by the seal.also the massive amounts of blowby.
here i have pics of the number one cylinder in perfect condition. you can still see the crosshatch from the hone. also cylinder 2 and 3 are identicle in condition.

negative jonas. ill borrow my freinds compression tester and test my 4afe and crosscheck mine on that also.
i dont have a leakdown or know anyone who has one so im s.o.l here unless i want to buy one which i dont have the cash for right now.
but on that #4 cylinder you can actually feel that carbon on the cylinder walls so it has to be bleeding off.
also, i never watched the compression tester during the test. my little brother ran the tester while i ran the starter. than a seperate time my red headed freind with the ae92 ran the tester while i ran the starter. so im going off what they both told me.

well i stole my older brothers smallport high comp out of his hatch.
for three reasons.
one to confirm the motor is in working order before i start the wiring on his car
two, i cant work on his car with two cars in the garage.(not enough space to open doors and such.
three, so we both might be able to drive at novembers event since my little brother will not let my older brother drive his car
in the next two weeks im either going to get my block off to the machine shop or just go get a low mile motor at the salvage to put in my ae101 and steal my forged bottom end for my ae86. i didnt want to boost my 86 just yet but my turbo can sit no longer!
i just hope my brothers motor is good for the mean time!!!!

another failure day. right after i got out of orientaion i fell ill.
then when i got home i tried to start it up and it just spun way to easy.
my two brothers and i ran a compression test with my questionable tester and sure enough 70 psi on the #1 cylinder. i just gave up at that point.
