Everytime im sitting in traffic for a while my car starts to idle around 400 rpms and later dies when i let off the gas. Also, last week my car wouldn't start. All it did was click once and I had no power. had to jump start it... Anyone know what could be causing these problems???? It seems like it only does this when the car starts to get hot.........

when it starts tpo idels around 400 and die does it burn rich. if so check the ohm specs on the ECT sensor cold and hot ... also check the ohms specs on the maf sensor... the specs for the maf sensor now i hope you have the gts because these specs are for the 4age. closed 200 to 400 ohms open no more then 3000 ohms .. .you move the flap with your conecter leads to E2 and VS to mesure ohms. the ect sensor is 70deg F 30k ohms-20k ohms 140 deg F 4k ohms- 7k ohms..

if does not aply to you let us now what car your driving

its easy just unplug battery then unplug/bolt wiring undo the 2 bolts holding it on to the bracket remove belt and you will have an alternator in your hand

it's vacuum operated so if you pump them the car will idle up/down

do you have a 1 way valve in your brake booster hose? if not try to find one it might help that problem.
