Ok ran in to a little prolbem here....as I was pushing down on the clutch pedel to I felt like every push in it kept getting weaker and weaker...OH NOES!!!!!! So I popped the hood to see what was going on. As I had my friend push the clutch in I can see the soft line bulging and then squirt a little small stream of fluid out. SO now my soft line is Messed the F**K up. My question is can I just buy a regular metal tube at autozone and bend it and hook it stright up to my slave clynder to the master? Meaning not have a soft line at all.

Unless you have solid motor & transmission mounts, I would advise against it. A hard line will fail eventually from engine movement.

yes you can do it if you put like 3 or 4 loops in it so it will flex and not bend. it would be better to just replace it with the oem hose or a ss braided

if you don't have ss brake lines already just order the whole kit with the brakes lines and clutch line ss.

are the ss kit stainless steel lines? and how much is the kit?

as Ricky86 already mentioned, i'd also recommend against replacing the hydraulic lines w/ hard lines. they're aren't that expensive. if anything, ss braided as others have suggested alex.

another thing, the hydraulic lines will hold more volume of fluid ideal for proper braking and which work hand in hand with the car's proportioning. swapping the hydraulic lines to hard lines loses that "leverage" for proper braking.

Wait brake lines? lol WellIm in the SR5 thing and I have the hard line that connects to the Master Clynder and then runs along the firewall to the tranny tunnel and then it connects to the Soft line about 2 inches then to the slave clynder. Where would I foind just the SS clutch line?

I wouldnt even bother, just replace it with a stock part. There will be no performance gain by going with a SS line.

the point of SS braided lines is to reduce hose flex and direct more of the hydraulic leverage to the calipers for better response.

there will be a stiffer pedal which should mean quicker release of the clutch

every one is correct it in theory will reduce flex but in a clutch line it doesnt really see as much pressure as your brakes do. i agree with mexellent on this one an oem or autozone replacement will be fine

Dont get me wrong, Ive got SS brake lines, but those see much harsher conditions.

How many times have you been driving your car ( I mean REALLY driving your car, autocross or drift or whatever) and thought, "Man, If only I had SS clutch line my performance would be SO much better."

Never. For me its:

"If only I had 30 more hp..."
"If only my transmission was easier to use..."
"If only I had racing buckets to keep me from moving around so much..."
"If only I had an LSD to keep that inside tire from spinning on corner exits..."
etc...

Now if you can buy a SS clutch line for the price of a regular line, go for it. Or if its only like five dollars more than the stock part, go for it. But if a stock clutch line is $5 and a SS clutch line is $45? No thanks. Ive got better things to spend my money on.
