after looking for an affordable solution for my 1UZ powered ae86 track car a couple of guys from the houston drift set pointed me here and i contacted aaron about a set of his caliper adapters and rotors..he was easy to deal with and answered my annoying questions about fitment and other available options in a professional manner.
after pricing fc caliper adapter brackets from oversea venders and brake kits from willwood and the like, his low cost solution was sure as hell worth a shot
let me clear something up....stock ae86 brakes will NOT hold up to track abuse with the 1UZ swap!!
expect brake fade followed by "oh shit" and "please jesus" as you pray it slows enough for the fast approaching corner
not even with fancy rotors, great pads and brake ducts will it inspire confidence
heres the stock setup
after market rotors/ hawk hp pads/ stainless brake lines
side by side comparison of the rotors
heat shield trimmed to keep my brake ducts
the rotors and calipers installed no problems....easy install
the results were awesome
i sprung for rebuilt calipers from a local partshouse and bought hawk hp plus pads all around.
brake pedal feel is firm and easy to modulate at the limit, no fading issues and the car stops great
problem solved, just what it needed...thanks aaron
