Axle Bearing RWD Pains!

I can't seem to get my axles out!
I've got the bolts off on the diff and behind the drum. Went to pull the cover off the front of the diff and it only move about an inch.
I need to replace the drv sid Axle Bearing. Please Help

if its IRS I think you need to press it out after you unbolt the half-shaft from the pumpkin.

Otherwise, if its like a chevy rear end, you need to pull out the C clip.

If its like my sr5 or a LSD corolla read end, you just slide it out.

the bearing might just be REALLY stuck, get a hammer? if that dont work, get a bigger hammer? :wink:

I used slide hammer. Came off easy.

yeah you have to slide hammer out the axels mine where stuck in there it was really really hard to get them out

i went thru 3 slide hammers on mine and then gave up. stupid harbor freight. lol.

i recommend renting one from autozone or advanced auto.

Are you sure there aren't any c clips in there. I don't want to go and get a slide hammer and end up breaking somthing.

no c-clips. as long as you've got the wheel hubs unbolted from the housing, the slide-hammer will do the rest.

I think the axle is like... inch and a half thick?

The only thing that will break is the hammer :lol:

slidehammer is the best idea.... when i did my rear end for the first time it took me 20 min. a side with a hammer

Yeeeeaaaaaaaa!
I got the axle bearing replaced!
My little baby is up and Running fantastic!
Getting the old bearing off the axle was a pain in the ass.

great to hear. so you have to come out to PZ this coming saturday. there's suppose to be an S2K meet and over 30 S2Ks are proportedly going to show.
