This is a almost stock 4AC rwd.

It does have a 2'' catback with a highflow ricer muffler during the dyno run.

yeah, power band is from 3K to 4500. talk about small windows of "opportunity" if you can call it that. that's about 5 9hp walk-behind lawn mowers.

A friend on club4ac.com ran his 5 speed ae86 100% stock and made 48whp and simular results at 6,000 rpm. I still can't find any dyno sheets of heavily modified N/A 4ac's but paradise racing says you can get...

"Paradise Racing also has the Paradise Racing Power Pack for the Toyota 4AC and Toyota 2/3TC engines!!! It includes a Weber 32/36 Carb Kit, Schneider Cam & Dual Valve Springs. It will provide a Dyno Proven 40hp and an improved power band up to 8,000 rpms!!!"

I'm curious if its a engine dyno or a chassie dyno.

from a purely practical sense, the amount of money spent on the 4ac as opposed to going w/ a motor that has a better design and spending money on it is an unwise and poor investment. that's the most commonly made observation and is usually advice ignored more often than it is given.

the optimum idea behind "unique" engine building is also the beginning platforum and potential output side by side with that of competing engines.

everyone can be as "different" as they want to be but in the end you'll have to look back and decide if your time and money was spent wisely and how high up your are standing on the money and time spent compared to others who have spent the same amount on different platforms.

you have to be willing to scrutinize yourself honestly and then go from there.

Yes Dr.Occa we have listen to the wise old man with the 4AG speach many times. I think it is cool to go with the 4AC, but I agree in the fact that it isn't pratical for good 1.6L hp. I feel that if the 4AC came from the factory fuel injected like the 4AG it would be so much better due to the ability to boost it easily.

I wish that the 4AG had a intake manifold for the Weber 32/36. When you ad up the costs....

4AG head $100 Pick A Part (Possibly Cheaper Elsewhere)
4AG Exhaust manifold $30 PAP (PCE)
4AG Distributor $40 PAP (PCE)
Timing Belt $15-20 autozone
Weber intake manifold $200 (if this existed)
Weber 32/36 $120-160 ebay
Exhaust mofified $60
Heat wrap around the slave $20
Fuel Pressure regulator $60
Misc $40

$730 bucks for a 4AG 32/36 which I feel would produce 75-85whp if running correctly.

Or you can go side drafts and add another 200-300.

IMO though I think swaping for a complete 4AGE is the way to do it. You can get a complete 4AGE from the junkyard for $250 (they used to be $100 about 2 years ago and $50 on sale day) EFI is the biggest selling point for the 4AGE IMO, the dual camshaft and decent flowing head are just a bonus. The EFI allows for excellent performance at all temperatures, altitudes.

got it from ebay off some guy in puerto rico. it even came with the down pipe (header to cat)
