it makes sence really. or it seems to. its like a rotory but with pistons. what about working on one of these things? how hard is it to seat the rings and so fourth?

i remember this engine design from a few years back. it's a shame that people that can make this happen are sitting on it.
it would definitely start an industrial revolution. designed and made in america. they should keep bringing the MYT powered car to SEMA. nurburgring time. then GT or formula time. that should garner enough attention if they can stack up consecutive wins.
i'd love for this to be a real world solution.

i don't see it making any good torque numbers. that might be the reason why it has not gone into production.
by looking at the crankshaft you can tell it is not a strong design, doesn't need to be. if it could make torque it would tear itself apart, keep in mind the strength of the steel/aluminum is your limit.
it is impossible to compare to a diesel engine, you would need huge gearing to propel large objects, there for defeating it's power to weight ratio.
maybe would work on small equipment/light vehicles. i can see it competing against an electric motor not a diesel, as they compare in the video.
