yeah, that is definately the downside to this monster. also, in the faq page the list of transmissions they have bolted up to this engine in exception to the ford are around 10k.

40k in engine and trans in a corolla. i'd do it. this guy did it http://www.club4ag.com/technical_main.htm

210hp 20v ae86. i still think that hartley would kick it's ass
