its a.... fixed or repaired daily

Post by hvguy »

I hate this truck already... its living up to its name. 5.slow, fixed and repaired before we even got to play with it....

Found this on craigslist a while back, and did think much of it. Gave the guy a call and he says it comes with a trailer to haul it! Ive been in need of a trailer for the corolla, in case of accidents. So I figured I would buy the truck and trailer, sell the truck, make my money back and keep a good trailer..

Well, the trailer used to be a motor home at one point, so its a bit dinky. But suprisingly, the truck crawled up on it without ramps, and the trailer thankfully didn't collapse.

Got it home, and found out I broke the front U-joint getting on the trailer, and the rear joint is shaking around O_o" plus it doesnt have back brake, reverse doesnt work because the guy didnt install the shifter kit corectly, and there isnt a E-brake.

Wow, a few things wrong, but i just put about 75$ in the brakes and joints, now its good as gold. Ill tackle the reverse another day-its about to rain and im headed out.

The good- has about 75% tread left on the super swampers, has a low-pro tach, B&M shifter with a lockout, E-stop for racing, and the ignition coil is mounted in the cab for water reasons, has a..... V8? of some kind, its got 2 throttle body's so I think its a 5.slow, a bucket racing seat, and 4 point harness "for the driver", a REAL solid locker in the front, with locking hubs, and an LSD in the rear.

Took the truck out a few hours ago.... and got it stuck.

by myself..

I managed to bailing wire the front U-joint back together and got 4x4 to work, the locker in the front really came in handy... so did the rear LSD.

Im debating weather or not to let this truck to go.

btw, just figured out it has a 9" rear end with an LSD, weather or not its a 2 way, I dont know. Until I get reverse fixed, Ill have to guess. But when I got stuck, both 33inch bogger paddles were throwing shit everywhere.

Because offroading involves drifting 8)

This was more of a financial gain. The truck was purchased with a nice trailer for what the truck is worth alone, so its just a toy for a little while until its time to re sell it.

lol, actually, I might make more by parting it out, then crushing the frame.

But it has a 5.slow, and a bad tranny. The only things worth while is the 9" rear end with the LSD, front locker and hubs, rims and tires, and HUGE tach.

the rest is trash

but I know a redneck down the way thats into this kinda shit.

tinypic is down, il post pics later...... its raining here, thats probably why.
