Ride Quality

Ok guys so I have my 86 on new BC racing coilovers and I dont expect a smooth ride but my car is bouncing all over the street its really making me not want to drive it. The problem is mainly the rear end if there is a medium sized bump it feels like my rear end leaves the ground. I really dont like to drive the car over 50 it just doesnt seem like the smartest of ideas. Its also killing drifting anytime I get over if I hit a bump it always makes me spin out which means places like ggp are going to be terrible on my car. Just some info on the coil overs they are a two piece set up in the rear end. Im thinking about using the shocks from the coilovers and maybe just putting mu old lowering springs in place of the adjestable ones that came with the coilovers but I really dont want it to be a monster truck. What do you guys think?

Sounds like the current adjustment is a little too stiff. I'd loosen them up a bit so the bound on the shock isn't so jarring, and then set the rebound a little softer too. That should help keep it on the ground and smooth out the ride. Also might want to check each corner individually to make sure the settings are even between left and right on the front and back. I'm not a suspension expert, but that's what I'd check first.

All of that makes sense and sounds good I do have my rebound loosened up but since its a two part system in the rear I cant do anything to take any tension off of the spring. the rear springs just seem to stiff to me at least or thats what I think but idk so I though I would ask for some input from every one but thanks for the response man.

hit up whoever you bought them from and see if by chance you got the wrong springs.

I got them from enjuku racing so I guess I can try to call them tomorrow during lunch but I dont really think ill get any where with that worth a shot though I suppose

how would I go about taking some off I dont have adjustable four links or anything just yet cant afford everything all at once lol

what about your bump stop, has it been shortened? it may be its bottoming out on that and causing it to jump.

yeah, if the car is lowered, you'll want to cut the bump stops that are in the center of the springs. see if that fixes your ride quality.

I just thought about myself I should have mentioned the rear end was all the way lowered but I raised the back of the car up last night to prevent the suspension from bottoming out thinking that could be the problem. I did not think about cutting the bump stops though good call man. Im pretty sure that got me fixed up I havent driven the car that far but it does seem to be a lot better thank you guys for the help
