Dropping Rear end

Post by BKH808 »

So basically I got a GTS parts car at my house now and was going to drop the rear end tomorrow for my TE72. Anyone have any tips when doing this? Is a impact gun/ compressor necessary? Good to have more than myself to help? 8)

i dunno about the swap but changing a solid axle is pretty basic. simple hand tools should suffice.

If the bolts aren't on too bad then hand tools will do the trick.

Once you have the rear end unbolted from the arms, it does help to have some extra muscle to move the rear end around but you can do it yourself. I just use a jack to lower the rear end and balance it as I pull it out from underneath one car and over to another.

Any pics of the TE72?

good to hear you got it all squared away BK. the 20v is always nice to see. i don't see why more people don't just have the factory extractors modified just above the initial collector flange by having the runners cut and turned. i can expect the work to be any more expensive than buying new headers and then end up modifying the flange at the left most mounting point.

For the ebrake cable do you just bend the bracket to get them out?

If you're easy with it bending it slightly will work. But be careful not to break the plastic keepers that hold em in place. Was your te a 3tc car? If so whatcha doing with it?????
