Currently under the scalpel at NST Garage
Both need plants.
The red hatch on the left is a full rebuild with goodies.
The black coupe on the right is getting a hi-comp transplant in place of its original and worn-out tvis largeport. shots of the hatch's original parts and a few re-worked goods: this motor was in very bad shape. surprisingly the customer was able to drive it into the garage after it came off the flat bed. it was smoking like a smoke stack though and it was burning your eyes.
this was lining the engine bay: long block and trans pulled: the plugs are L to R from cylinder 1 through 4. notice the downward progression of their conditions. several of the cam journals were scoured. upon removal of the oil pan. no i didn't put the oil pickup on just for the picture. if anyone was missing a valve cover grommet, i found it in the head! piston no. 4! bottom end, head and crank back from the machine shop. removed all of the extra casting material from the the head and block before sending them out.
block's going back out for some boring. tri-flows just arrived!
