1987 Toyota Corolla Coupe - Clean & OG - Charleston, SC - 2K

Post by Flatbroke »

Hi everyone,

I picked this car up on a trade and wasn't sure what to do with it. After driving it a bit I've decided that its too nice for me to keep as I don't have room in the garage and parking it outside would be a shame. I'm also just not as into imports as much as I used to be, and I have a 1960 Oldsmobile that needs some repair work so I'd like to sell the AE86 to help finance that endeavor. I have quite a bit more than the asking price wrapped up in this car, but I feel that I'm looking for a reasonable price that will provide the right person with an exceptional daily driver or a great base for a project.

Its a relatively stock '87 coupe showing 265,000 miles. It shows quite well considering the mileage, and had a respray of the original red at some point in its life. Very small rust spots in a few places (rear corner drivers side, near the door latches & one on a fender). Overall the car looks great and runs well. When cold starting it requires a bit of gas, and when it warms up it seems to bog down if you give it too much gas. Sounds like it just needs carb tuning. Original and stock motor with AC (compressor turns but doesn't kick on when you hit the switch), Power Steering, Power Brakes. CD player with aux input and a pair of 6x9s in a poorly re-covered package tray. The interior is as near mint as you can get, the only thing missing seems to be the handle for the driver's side seat-back release. Other than a small crack in the dash the interior is gorgeous. Exterior shows well, a couple of little dings & dents here and there, but overall its a very clean straight car and I'll let the pictures do the talking.

The car seems fairly stock, but it is on a set of old school Momo 14"s (sweet!) and definitely lowered. I do not know what the suspension setup is, all I can say is the car rides firm and corners flat.

My price is $2K and that is a firm, non-negotiable price. I feel that its very reasonable given the car's completeness & overall condition. I look forward to your questions and thanks for your interest.

Thanks,
Alex
