My 86 ...stock :(
My 86 ...stock :(
This is the 86 I bought (mentioned in intro thread). Its pretty much stock but the previous owners took care of it. Its got 165k original miles. My only complaint is.. its a 4Ac. Soon as I get prepped and got all my info straight ima drop the 20V in though. Anyways just thought I'd drop some pics. thanks

Re: My 86 ...stock :(
Man, that's a pretty clean car...
If you're looking for a 20v swap, i might be selling the blacktop setup i have in my car right now...if your car was a GTS, it'd be a plug and play setup, but with it being an SR5, not sure how plug and play it would be...
PM me if you want more details.

That's a very clean car you have there sir.
You could get yourself a turbo from a Chrysler LeBaron or Dodge Daytona Turbo I (87 and older because the turbos are the Carbon Sealed type), do up a custom log manifold and mount a Weber 32/36 or DCOE carb on the intake side of the turbo and have yourself a draw through, carburetor turbo like the VW bugs. Check out Draw Through Turbo setups on line man. A lot less expensive and good bang for the buck. It's perfect for motors with both the in/ex on the same side like that 4AC of yours.

Re: My 86 ...stock :(
Use the silvertop. A harness, ecu and frustration inducing wiring will be needed though.
Re: My 86 ...stock :(
Im gonna be pulling it from an AE101 the cars all there. Will I be able to use the harness from that car or is there a specific one I have to buy for the Sr5. Probably a dumb question but its my first time doing this hehdr.occa wrote:Use the silvertop. A harness, ecu and frustration inducing wiring will be needed though.

Re: My 86 ...stock :(
if the car is all there make sure it runs hahaha no wiring issues or anything stupid like that. will save headaches later down the road.

Re: My 86 ...stock :(
Well I yanked out the harness, everything went smooth. I found out the guy had the harness sent to Phoenix Az about a year ago not sure what all they did though.

Re: My 86 ...stock :(
Looks like the harness would have been modified for FWD. Cool update Rayray.
