new car :) ish

Post by Jovilicious86 »

I haven't been logging much, so figure reintro with my new car . I have an 86 of course but I just bought a 1979 corolla wagon (te38) with jdm 2tg engine.
Spent about a whole month going crazy looking for one and traveling to places I never want to go back to .

First time I found one I traveled 5 hours then the tow vehicle broke down about an hour before arriving where the car was , the guy sold it before I even fixed the tow vehicle !

Second time I traveled 10 hours on bus ( I thought it was a better plan ). The plan was to meet the guy there and drive back in the wagon(daily driven) . Well the guy decided not to show up . So I spent the next ten hours in a shitty little town trying to get a ride to the nearest bus station/car rental place / anything to get me home.

Finally third time 3 hours away got there got him to lower the price and drive that bitch home. :)

Worth it , got the best out of the three with 2tg dohc and dual side draft carbs.

Third times a charm

So what do y'all think?

I loved my '78 TE38 and I'm digging yours especially with the 2TG. I pulled he 2TC auto tragic and dropped in a 3TC 5spd with dual Toyota solex carbs and a distributor from a 2TG that was in a Carina in AUS.

Really digging your wag.

Thanks guys , unfortunately it needs work to be my daily but for the most part it's a good place to start .

Yeah San Antonio ..

I'm thinking of selling it . I became so obsessed with finding one that I didn't think it through , and now I have no money and going back to school full time . I posted on cl to see if anyone has a nice daily to trade or cash . But I really want it :(

... I really don't want to get rid of it .. All my friends want to buy it from me, but all my friends are in the car industry lol.

They also know how much I looked for one . Mostly cause It was like a month long period i was sensitive , moody , and pist off when they mentioned all my failures at trying to get my wagon.
