Re: Getting ready for nst event!
Man I wish my car was up and running again and I only had to worry about tire rub lol. Looks great though. I need to get in a finish tweaking my suspension as well once I get back to that point. Are those tokicos with slip on coilovers?
And I dont think Ive ever seen the strap like that on an AE86. Plenty of off roaders do that, but its a first Ive seen on a sport compact. Whats the benefit? Keep the suspension from kicking out too much?

Re: Getting ready for nst event!
coil overs with trd 8 way adjustable shocks. strap is only there so my exhaust doesn't get crushed by the diff when the car is lifted from the body.
did some work today
since i don't have the means of welding aluminum, i brazed a bracket on my oil catch can and a carrier for my throttle cable. after i polished both
i had a problem with wheel hop(or so i thought) so i lifted the car to check my pinion angle. when i made my equall lenghth 4 link boxes i measured everything very every suspension angle, so it was very dissapointing to have to go back and check my work. come to realize that the problem had nothing to do with pinion angle, it was rear diveshft yoke slaming against the body of the car on hard take offs.
will be fixing this issue when i drop my diff...
this is a pic that was requested of my unmolested headlight housings with custom projectors and my rear light harness

Re: Getting ready for nst event!
these past few days i dropped my whole diff and got started on the panhard bar mount and also lowering my bottom link brackets including my coilover mount.
this is the stock panhard bar mount. also orderd a cusco rca for comparison.
my panhard bar jig. marked 2 inches down for it to be level
stock mount vs. mine. ugly but should work. pain to cut with a grinder.
my diff all taken apart. should have a write up on diff install once i get my 4.77

actually alan, it is 40 degrees right now. feels f ing colder though! might be because i'm starting to like the hot weather.
it would be nice to have you here landslide. not many ae86's in the area.
that car looks nice jomon. ask him to head out to houston with us on the 29th. come by so we can install that hatch bar on your car.
hope to see you there too cbr_toy.
welded up one lower link bracket today, ran out of cut off wheels and the weather sucks. i'll post up more pics tomorrow.

almost done! just need to do a little more work to the panhard mount and weld on tabs for my brake lines. this is what i have so far.
Re: Getting ready for nst event!
thanks Joel. i thought i would finish today, but, i have a horrible hangover I don't drink too often. for some stupid reason though, i really felt like getting hammered last night.

its just your subconscious trying to tell your body to prepare for the 1\31 pre-party!

Re: Getting ready for nst event!
i do agree guys, that was just a warm up for 1/31. since i'm now from tx, yyyeeehhhaaaa.
cbr, i will take the pics tomorrow. i have an rs chita water line kit with a 16v water pump. i bought it like that. if i was doing one and wanted to save money, i would do it the way mr.john on club 4ag does it without drilling the head. now, next alternative would be using the t3 kit which is the ss works copy. don't buy the kit i have, waste of money and you acheive the same result as the mr.john way. if you need more info/help lmk.
