what is this cam replacement tool?

Yeah I'm going to check them and make sure the clearance is good before I start it up, hopefully not too many are OOS.

Ok guys, after a insanely long few months of work with no days off I finally got to work on the car some today and I have some questions.

Here are my clearances for the new 272 cams ------> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... sp=sharing" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I know you can swap some of the buckets around so I was wondering if I can take the ones with a lot of clearance and swap them with the ones with no clearance and get them closer to where
they need to be or am I going to have to buy a mic and measure the actual thickness of the shims?

Birthday weekend kicks off tonight and I hope to see some of you at Oktoberfest in Addison. I'll be picking back up on the project Monday so expect more pictures and possibly video next week if I get this cam business sorted.

Screwing around with the car today and I answered my own questions above, I didn't realize the shims popped out of the buckets.

Got the new studs on the front pressed all the way in. checked all suspension bolts and made sure I didn't leave one loose and then we got all the clearances within tolerance for the new
cams, put everything back together and it fired right up! It's not idling right and getting a bit of backfire but I think it's almost good to go.

Monday I plan on finishing the brake lines in the rear, studs in the rear and putting fluid in it then I'll pull it out of the garage. If all goes according to plan I'll have pictures for you guys then.

Finished the brake lines today and got the brake system flushed and while in the process of putting the new studs in the rear I smashed the F-bomb out of my finger!

Now I have a new problem. After tinkering with the TPS, idle control screw and distributor I was finally able to get her to idle at 750 without dying after a few seconds but now I have no power until 2k rpm and when I say no power I mean it wouldn't back over a 1 inch at the entrance of my garage, any ideas? Also, the idle control screw is out quite a ways.

As promised here is a vid and a picture outside the garage. I have not touched the suspension height in anyway so it was driven out as it came from the factory.

I think I might have, if you look under the green plug coming off the distributor in that video there is a lot of sparking going on. I think 2 wires might be touching that shouldn't be, I will mess with it some more tomorrow and finish all the sanding.

Figured it out, looks like the crank pulley had moved on me while up the belt and moved 5 degrees off TDC, it's now running much better I just need to dial in the idle!.

Car, bodykit, skirts and flares are all now sanded and awaiting primer. I'm getting excited!

I think I'm going to go with the red that's on the Hyundai Genesis, I saw one at the mall the other day and I just could not take my eyes off of it.

Started laying down primer tonight but I forgot the newspaper for the windows so we will finish up in the morning. Car will be fully primed tomorrow.

Does anyone know where I can find OEM or OEM quality NEW door handles?

The car is finally primer-ed and man does it feel good. We have to wet sand out some runs but other than that things went really well today.

Really looking forward to getting it all finished up so I can drive it, we are really close! Now enough of my yacking here are some pics!

The flares freshly drilled with a fresh coat of primer.

All the red on the front will be sprayed once I get in there and clean it up.
