here's my wifes old car. it started out 7afe and it is now a 4afe. the first t25 i had on it worked ok.

and i had a few issues with the turbo itself having not enough thrust play on the shaft and had alot of spinning resistance.even though i always had some sort of boost leak it manage to put out 11 to 12 psi

it was always fun to drive but i needed more.

and i was always having problems with a code 52 even though i added a knock sensor to the 4afe and of coarse the map sensor and check valves.so i got a megasquirt v 3.57

when i saw the turbo for the first time i new it was time. these little bitty rods arnt gonna cut it.so i built the motor.

much more info here.http://www.corollacarclub.com/forum/sho ... php?t=6688

at this point the motors in the and i got 4hours or so on it before i decided to try to get the megasquirt on. i cannot get an rpm signal while cranking with the stock 4afe 4 toothed wheel so i ordered a 36-1 wheel and sensor it should be here soon.

the new turbo is not on it yet

right now its n\a till i get the megasquirt running the car. i could not get an rpm signal from the stock vr sensors. well, i could but not while cranking no matter how much i adjusted the vr pots.

so i ordered a 36-1 wheel and tommorow i am going to snag vr sensor from an early 90's edis ford.

i never took it to the track with the old motor and turbo.

thanks.

i wish i could. the car is down until i get the megasquirt figured out. as soon as it is firing the plugs there will be video.

the crank trigger wheel should be here wednesday and ill be getting a sensor saturday. so hopefully soon ill be able to spool this turbo.

i am also considering pulling the bottom end and turbo and putting it on my ae86 and 1j\2jz the ae101. i just dont know if it will pass emissions with the motor and drivetrain reconfigumation. the only thing thats stoping me really.

well since then i ran into some problems with the ms. as i approached 3500 rpm the tach signal would drop out. really long story short there was some confusion with the guys at diy autotune and the board was set up for a hall effect sensor and i'm running a vr. simple switching of jp1 and j1 and it runs all the way throught the rpm range. hopefully i will have the turbo mounted soon.

also got a bunch of bodywork done to my 86

its almost legal. i need a set of front tires and an exhaust. the stock was cat off after the cat.

if my monte carlo can hold together for another six months big things will be happening to the 86. but i hope to be driving it on the streets in the next month.
