I figure that I probably ought to post up about my 14-year old son and his Hachi Roku coupe that he and I are going to rebuild.

Here are some of the goodies he has for it so far:

Image
These are the Longchamps XR-4s 14x7 my son and I found at a great price

Image
These are some SSR Formula Mesh 13x7s I found for him that were too good to pass up.

Here is the JDM 4AGEU redtop w/ AE92 smallport head complete with harness, ecu and tranny that Matt (slamdbusa) found for us.

This is what it looked like when we originally saw the ad.

Here is what it looked like a couple of days before we decided this was to be our project.

The car had a blown engine which we knew about, but is an authentic '86 GT-S coupe. Then the buyer posted up that a truck and trailer backed into the car causing the damage in the second pic. He said he would take the first offer he got. Long story short--it is sitting in our shop.

As for the paint/body, we will probably keep it fairly conservative to mildly modded like these:

However, he wouldn't mind something like this either:

OK. I am an admitted wheel whore. Got these at a price that was just too incredibly cheap to pass on.

The redtop motorset just came in last Tuesday and is still resting on the pallet. I have been swamped at the office since its arrival, not even having the time to inspect it. Moreover, my son qualified for his last golf tournament (this Thursday in Odessa) of the season and is struggling to re-discover his driver. All that, compounded with the sudden colder temps here has not really motivated us.

On a side note, I am meeting with my insurance man this week about converting part of my office building into a shop where I can work on the cars. This would be ideal since it is fully climate controlled, convenient and REALLY close to the house (as if my warehouse shop wasn't already).
