I bought this coupe for $200.00 in 2012.

So now I've started work on the AE86. I'm going to put the SR2ODET in my AE86. Today we started everything. I pulled the SR out and all the front suspension and cross member. Then installed the 240 front suspension and 240 cross member on the AE86. More to come as I get time.

Went ahead a set the SR20 in to make sure about any fab needed.

Went ahead and took the core support off and started pre making the tubs.

Pulled the windshield out.
Cut out the fender wells for tubs.

Ok I went ahead and remove the rear bumper and fuel tank. Removed the trunk lid and skinned it. Cut out the spare tire compartment. Also removed the rear end and finished cutting out the rest of the driver door.

Got my S&W 10 point roll cage in. Cage is 1 3/4 x .120 DOM. So I loaded the car up and drop it off at my buddy's place to be installed.

Great build up so far. I was looking at the S & W roll cages too. Did it come with end plates?

The S13 cross member did not bolt in. I had to widen the holes. But for the most part it did. Has far as the S&W cage coming with plates. They do. I get my car back in a few day's. So I'll try and post some updated pictures.

Awesome. That's making the S&W cage looking more and more appealing for me. I'm looking at the DOM around the dash rather kit.

The S&W cage is worth it. I bought the 10 point 1 3/4 X .120 DOM. Got it over thanksgiving so the price was cheaper. About $534.00

Yeah that's hella cheap for a DOM 1.75" 10pt. Wish I had reached for it during the holidays.

Whoa, what a build. Noob question since you didn't mention it, but did the s13 engine k member and suspension just bolt right into the ae86 chassis? As in all the bolt holes and strut mounts lined up fine.
