the only other experiment that i'm aware of that HASN'T been performed on the AE86 is the MR setup.

it's doable but you'd have to fab up all the mounting points for the upper and lower real control arms, borrow the shifter from an MR2/S.

if done it would open up the options to a 2ZZ setup.

the only other option would be the fwd tranny having an adaptable bell housing. outside of that, you'd have to have a custom bellhousing fabbed up for the 2zz to accept either a T50 (WHY!??) or W58.

scion would have opened up this arena if they hadn't replaced the 2az w/ a 3sg but went w/ the lotus elise engine.

anyway...all hypothesizing right now.

well the mr set up is a bit more complicated then that since putting the engine in the rear will throw off all your suspension. i just think it would be cool to have a rwd 2zz trany that was geared for it. plus it would be a corolla like what it is suposed to be

the 1zz corolla auto's used the a245e tranny. the same one that bolted to the 7afe corolla's with ect. i'm not sure if the bellhousing area has the same bolt pattern as the 7afe a245e i havnt checked for myself. so it might bolt to the t50.

if this is true then it should bolt up. since there is a big following of the 7age. it is a 7afe block and internals mated with a 4age head and pistons....hmmmm

the motor should bolt to the t50 but the motor was never designed to be mounted rwd. so you would have to make rwd mounts, drill tap or weld a plate.
